Echönymphia
A collaborative project between pianist Vivian Li and harpist Coralie Gauthier, Echönymphia paints soundscapes of shimmering textures and ethereal colors. Fusing the sounds of harp and synthesizer, both modified with an array of effects pedals, their ambient, minimalist-influenced music blends the tone and sensitive playing of an acoustic instrument with the technology of live sound processing. Almost exclusively based on structured improvisation, their performances evolve intuitively, seeking to reflect natural rhythms, drawing a subtle parallel between electronic sounds and those one might hear in a forest or in the whistling of the wind, and immersing the audience in the ephemeral sonic world of an augmented nature.Soundcloud
